Former U.S. first lady Betty Ford has died at the age of 93 years, and was praised on Friday (8 / 7), as an “inspiration”, mainly because of his efforts to establish drug addiction treatment centers in California.
Widow of former president Gerald Ford, who also campaigned to raise awareness about breast cancer and speaking out about women’s rights, has lived in California since her husband died in 2006.
“I am very sad … when I heard Betty Ford died. He has become an inspiration to so many people through its efforts to educate women about breast cancer and an amazing job at Betty Ford Center,” said former President Ronald Reagan.
“He is the strength of Jerry Ford in the past days are very difficult in the history of our country, and I admire his courage in facing and sharing his personal struggle with all the tips,” said Reagan, who also lives in California.
Betty Ford died Friday night (8 / 7), while members of his family at his side, said a family member. Former U.S. president George H.W. Bush said he and his wife Barbara “loves Betty Ford.”
