Craigslist Killer Advance Review

At that time, such a sensational murder case of the “Craigslist killer” would have given birth at least two competing TV movie projects. But because the broadcast networks have pretty much give up that business, Lifetime has become the go-to place for stories of true-crime dirty.

Monday night (3 January), Lifetime obliges with a film called “The Killer Craigslist.” It is based on the case of Philip Markoff, a Boston medical student who is charged in April 2009 with the murder of a masseur who has reportedly contacted through Craigslist. He is also a suspect in two other cases where women who advertise adult services was robbed.

Jake McDorman – Evan Chambers on “Greek,” which also premiere on Monday night – play Markoff, and it’s a safe bet that this character is a little darker than the asshole frat-boy he plays on ABC Family. The film also stars Agnes Bruckner (“Private Practice”) as Megan McAllister, fiancee Markoff, and William Baldwin (“Family”) as the lead detective in the case.

(Markoff, by the way, committed suicide in prison cell in August, before he went to court in a murder case.)

Reviews of the film is not particularly good, but the possibility of the film will do well.

Here is a preview for “The Killer Craigslist,” which premiere at 9 pm ET on Lifetime.
